Apprenticeships First is an Apprenticeship Training Association (ATA). It has been formed by Lewisham College and The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London. Both colleges hold the prestigious ‘Beacon' status, awarded to only the country's top training providers. The colleges have also achieved the Training Quality Standard (TQS) in recognition of excellent work with employers. The aim of Apprenticeships First is to help a range of organisations, and especially small businesses, to offer Apprenticeship places to young people. Like other ATAs, Apprenticeships First has been developed to make it easier for businesses to take on an apprentice, and we will help many companies to do so for the first time. At a 2009 event held to celebrate the launch of the ATA scheme, Apprenticeship Minister Kevin Brennan said: "We want to give small and medium-sized firms the extra support and resources they need to take on more apprentices. These innovative models mean small businesses, who may not previously have felt able to offer Apprenticeships, can now get on board and back young Britain." Apprenticeships First can offer you unique coverage of London from North to South, and unrivalled contact with employers, job seekers and other contacts across the wide range of sectors for which Apprenticeships are available. |
